This young lady knows how to work the camera!! Oh how I love to shoot a dancer! It was such a fun night and Ashley pulled off some amazing stuff! I particularly loved the blue dress. It was so fun to watch her spin and spin. I wanted to go home, get dressed up with my girls and spin around in as carefree a manner as Ashley did. What a truly great moment!

This babe made me so excited for my new little one (even though I'm having a boy)!! She was so sweet and loving! Her mama is so in love! For a 3 month old to fall asleep the way she did allowed us to capture magic. Her dreams must be very sweet because she couldn't help but smile in her sleep.

These had to be some of the most polite children I have ever worked with! This older brother is what every girl wishes she had. He was so gentle and loving with his sisters!! This family was so wonderful to work with! When they showed up and I saw just how beautiful they all were together I was ecstatic!! This beautiful mama is due in 2 weeks. I'm due in 3 1/2. Just a little sneek peek (I couldn't resist). This couple wins the best troopers ever award!!! It was around 20 degrees and her poor feet were frozen, but she pushed on. They were willing to go with the flow and the results are magic. The gentle snowfall also added such a lovely, romantic feeling to the whole day. I was so honored to be a part of it. Thanks you two!!

Fall has been so busy that we were scrambling to pull together costumes last minute. The girls were taken care of but we were empty handed, and we love Halloween. A blue shirt, grey coat and some makeup later this is what walked out the door with me to take our princesses trick or treating. This was the only picture I took, and it was in a gymnasium. I think it turned out pretty well (I changed the background of course). Can you guess who he is? And no I wasn't his counterpart. I was Cleopatra, but just from the neck up.

Pocatello Art Walk Tonight

I'm the featured artist at La Bella Vita tonight for the first Friday Art walk of the season here in Poky. It's a wonderful event with multiple business's open and featuring all types of artists and their beautiful work. The best part is it's free. You can just come and walk around, several businesses have finger foods and beverages that are complimentary. What a great date night eh? I will have loads of samples from my work available to be viewed, and I'm doing 2 giveaways. You'll have to come to find out what they are however. Pass it on folks.

LOTS OF NEWS!!!

First off...we are going .com!!! That's right, a link to our website will be posted here within the week. It's looking fabulous and amazing!!! It will offer wonderful opportunities for our clients. Photo galleries, online scheduling, personal client galleries for you and your loved ones to see online, shopping cart, and print ordering options. It will be FABULOUS!!! I've been holding back a few things, so keep checking back. We will also be offering a launch special.

Other changes, I am no longer a solo operation. Allie White is morphing into A&K Photography. My wonderful hunky husband (Kevin, hence A&K) is finally hopping on board. He has an incredible eye, and he has been a part of this whole operation from its inception, so the transition has been a wonderful one. He will be involved in both the business, and artistic end of things. He does amazing things with his camera and I will post a gallery of his work on the new website when it's launched.

We have been improving the way we do things around here on a pretty regular basis, and I've wanted to save some of the best things for the launch. We've changed not only the meticulous way in which we are shooting, but how we are editing, and who we are printing with. We have really seen a need for the website because of how busy things seem to be round these parts. I hope that the changes to the blog will also prove to be positive. We will be offering monthly specials, having giveaways, and sending out more email notifications. If you are not on our email list feel free to send us your name, and email address and we will get you on our mailing list pronto. We will not share your information with anyone, or sell it. They are for the use of A&K photography only. If you are in our email list, you will be notified of the new websites launch as well.

So there is some of our wonderful news. This blog will stay active and be used regularly, it will however be used for blogging. The little bits of news that we have, our specials and promotions and some teaser shots from current shoots on occasion. We are very excited, and we hope you will all visit and see the changes for yourselves.

This family holds a special place in my heart. Isn't that baby BEAUTIFUL!!! They are a great couple who add so much to this world. This Daddy is going to sacrifice a year with his family to serve his country starting in August. How much we all owe the men and women who serve our country! Thank you for all you do!

I got some glorious shots from this morning's shoot. This Mommy and Daddy are in LOVE with this baby!! Just look at him, I was too! I used natural light and I love what it gives back to me. I never changed my backdrop and the colors changed continually depending on how the sun was hitting it. I loved what came through in the end! To top it all off, this little guy was a real trooper. He did soooo great!

Sometimes it looked gray, others blue. LOVE IT!!

These are some of our pictures from my cousins wedding.It was beautiful, sunny and green in fabulous Las Vegas. We had a blast shooting, and these two had a ball in front of the camera. My hubby and I both shot at the wedding. I may have only uploaded 1 or 2 of his, but I'll give credit where credit is due. He did GREAT! We were really pleased with how everything turned out. About me....

I fell in love with the camera at a very young age. My wonderful and supportive mother made sure I was in front of it regularly. She always had beautiful pictures taken of me to capture the precious moments of my childhood. I now have the opportunity to provide others with encapsulated moments they can treasure forever. Through my photography, I have unlocked a part of myself. From behind my camera I look at the world around me and I see beautiful pictures in everything and everyone.

When I come together with my clients, I work hard to create a memorable and unique experience they can look back on with fondness. Taking pictures is not just something I enjoy, it’s something I love. It is a beautiful thing to see a natural smile slip into place, or to capture a fleeting expression of joy, peace, or love. It’s important to me that I create an atmosphere that is relaxing, creative, and FUN. I have been blessed with the ability to put others at ease, and I have seen that my pictures reflect my efforts. I shoot using both contemporary and traditional photography methods, and I love to see my clients love their photos.

On the business end of things I have equipped myself with the best camera's, lenses and studio lighting (I’m a Canon girl myself) to ensure that the quality of your photos is never an issue. I personally edit each of your photos using Photoshop CS3, and take great pride in handing over a finished product that I am proud to put my name on.

I am grateful each time I am allowed the opportunity to be a part of precious moments in the lives of others. I look forward to the experiences that are yet to come, and the moments I've yet to capture.
